Maroon Goes East

Big congratulations are in order for our founder, Lindsay A. Jenkins, who is headed to the East Coast to pursue a PhD in Theatre and Performance Studies this fall! This exciting new chapter marks the beginning of Maroon Arts and Culture’s East Coast expansion!

Since Juneteenth 2019, it’s been our honor to be part of a thriving, supportive community in Los Angeles—and we’re not going anywhere. Over the past 6 years our West Coast family has held us down and lifted us up. We will continue showing up for you through events, giveaways, and opportunities to support Black art and Black artists.

Our long-term goal is to be in community with artists, organizers, and cultural institutions across the country. This expansion is not just a natural next step- it is divinely timed. We are already uncovering opportunities that align with our mission and spark our imagination. One especially thrilling development will undoubtedly bring us closer to our goals AND help us see our vision for Sandbranch come to fruition. We can’t say too much just yet, but you will definitely want to keep your eyes on The Clearing. Subscribers will be the first to get the full reveal.
